Με πολλή χαρά δέχθηκαν αρκετοί μαθητές της Ε’ και Στ’ τάξης να συμμετέχουν στην παγκόσμια κοινότητα των epals, ενός δικτύου όπου σχολεία ή μεμονωμένα παιδιά έχουν τη δυνατότητα να επικοινωνήσουν με άλλα σχολεία σε κάθε μεριά του πλανήτη. Με την καθοδήγηση της δασκάλας των Αγγλικών Δώρας Παπαδοπούλου, οι μαθητές συμφώνησαν να επιλέξουν σχολεία αγγλόφωνων χωρών ώστε να μπορέσουν να εξασκήσουν την αγγλική γλώσσα (ανάγνωση, κατανόηση και γραφή) όπως επίσης να γνωρίσουν άλλους λαούς, πολιτισμούς και να ανταλλάξουν ιδέες και πληροφορίες μέσα από αυτήν την πρωτόγνωρη εμπειρία που βασίζεται αποκλειστικά στη χρήση της τεχνολογίας. Τα σχολεία που επιλέχθηκαν αρχικά είναι από τις ΗΠΑ και τον Καναδά. Η επικοινωνία με τους μακρινούς μαθητές γίνεται με email υπό τον απόλυτο έλεγχο και συντονισμό της δασκάλας τους. Τα πρώτα γράμματα δεν άργησαν να έρθουν και αμέσως οι μαθητές μας ενθουσιάστηκαν με τους νέους τους φίλους! Θα θέλαμε να ευχαριστήσουμε τους δασκάλους που συμφώνησαν να συνεργαστούν μαζί μας, την κυρία Quyen Trinh από το Οντάριο του Καναδά, τον κύριο Jesse Bosque από την πολιτεία της Φλόριντα των ΗΠΑ και την κυρία Jeanette Henshaw από την πολιτεία της Β. Καρολίνας των ΗΠΑ.
It was such a pleasure for most of our 5th and 6th graders to sign up in ?epals- Global Communiy?, a network which enables students to collaborate with distant schools in any part of the world, exchanging information and developing their cultural awareness. Our students have already received email messages from their epals and they are all so excited to have new friends in America. We would like to thank Mr Jesse Bosque from Savanna Ridge Elementary in Florida, USA, Ms Jeanette Henshaw from Mary McArthur Elementary School in North Carolina, USA and Ms Quyen Trinh from Good Shepherd Catholic School in Ontario, Canada for their cooperation and support.
